Florida always seems to have the craziest news stories

January 7, 2020

It is stories like these that make us love the sunshine state so much.

We’ll start this edition of What’s Up With? Florida with 18-year-old Destin N. Garcia. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at his job. A Subway inside the local Walmart where he works as a sandwich artist. They were running a promotion where store employees were being offered a free sandwich. His coworker made a wrap instead of a sandwich for a Walmart manager and asked his coworker to pay the difference. She must not have paid the difference because the next morning Destin went to his co-workers' house, pushed her mother and refused to leave when asked to do so by the homeowner. Destin then took out a handgun and shot at her feet. Luckily he missed but he also fled the scene. Destin was arrested 2 weeks later and he is currently being held with at the Palm Beach County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

On Christmas Eve a 20-year-old Florida man woke up to an intruder in his home sucking on his toes. The man was sound asleep and was woken up by the sensation of someone sucking his toes. He beat the crap out of the stranger that was sucking on his little piggy’s and was able to get him out of his house. When they got to the front yard the man told police that the predator yelled out that he had a gun, but instead of pulling out a gun, he started fondling the victim’s genitals. The man continued to fight off the attacker, punching him across the face multiple times. He ran back inside to call the police, but the man left in a hurry. Police attempted to track down the toe sucker using dogs but were not able to find anyone and he was able to get away.

57-year-old Robert Miller’s neighbors installed cameras with microphones to prove what he’s been doing that has been keeping them up at night. Miller revving the engine on his riding lawn mower at all hours of the night. He was finally arrested for disturbing the peace with complaints coming from all of his neighbors. Miller’s bond was set under $200 and now his neighbors fear that it’s only a matter of time before he’s back to revving the engine of his riding lawnmower. Miller will definitely be coming back and revving that lawnmower engine again at all hours of the night. So, get some noise-canceling headphones or pack it up and move.

Lastly, 20-year-old Christopher Meader was arrested at a Target store for sexual assault for violating multiple stuffed animals and finishing with a Frozen 2 Olaf doll. When he was done he placed the stuffed animal back on the shelf and then picked up a unicorn to continue. Police arrived shortly after and arrested him for criminal mischief. All of this doesn’t just make Jensen question his actions, but all of us question, What’s Up With Florida?
