Today on Kevin & Bean we have GREAT NEWS stories for you. We find news stories that make you feel good and restore your faith in humanity to balance out all the bad news you hear on the news.

This morning Allie introduced us to philanthropist Robert F. Smith. He is a Billionaire investor who was giving a commencement speech at Morehouse College. During his speech, he stunned the crowd by announcing, "This is my class, 2019. My family is making a grant to eliminate their student loans." That statement was met with silence. Then everybody looked around in disbelief and then they all erupted in cheers. Smith pledged to completely pay off the entire student loan debts of about 400 students. It was a moment of complete disbelief. Something like this is unimaginable, it is like winning the lottery. He only asked the graduating students to pay it forward and help the community. Bean brought our attention to a program called The Laundry Truck L.A. It is a free mobile laundry service for individuals experiencing Homelessness. They have been around since 2017 but operated on a limited schedule. Recently the received a $30,000.00 grant and cleaning products from the Clorox Corporation. They will now be able to go out with multiple trucks fitted with multiple washers and dryers and will be going to various locations all over southern California 3 to 5 days per week. They will have the capacity to wash & dry over 5,000 loads of clothes annually. It will be staffed by volunteers and they will be spreading the word any way they can. Clorox issued the grant as a part of their “What Comes Next” campaign, which supports individuals and organizations that are giving back to their communities through the power of cleanliness. Today Kevin told us about Laura Mazur and Jessica Robertson. The two had never met before until they reached the mile 14 marker at the Pittsburgh Marathon on May 5. Mazur was worried because she didn’t want to finish last. She turned around and noticed another runner, Robertson, was there as well. Robertson had been Face-Timing with her mother, feeling sad with her performance when she noticed Mazur beside her. The two became quick friends and decided to buddy up and run the rest of the race together. As they made their way along, the crowd started cheering for them. They made it to the finish line with each other’s help and they crossed the finish line together. This was Kevin’s GREAT NEWS!!! Click here to read the entire story.
