Get Up On This With Jensen Karp: I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson

Every Thursday morning Jensen Karp gets us up on something new

April 25, 2019

Every Thursday morning Jensen Karp brings our attention to something that we may not know about yet or something we may have overlooked in the past.

Now it's time to "Get Up On This."

This week, Jensen brings our attention to a new Netflix Original Series, I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. It’s an absolutely brilliant sketch show in the vein of Mr. Show, Kids In The Hall or Key & Peele. It’s inventive, fresh and at times awkward. It focuses on the absurd world of doubling down when you are embarrassed by something, which makes for some very cringe-worthy moments. Picture a character like Michael Scott from The Office with a lot of yelling. It’s what would happen if you took something 3 steps too far.

As if you needed any more reasons to watch this show, it’s produced by The Lonely Island, who were the guys who convinced Robinson to do the show. The first season is only 6 episodes long and more importantly, each episode is only 16 to 20 minutes long. The episodes stand alone, the sketches are not intertwined so you can jump in and watch anywhere and don’t have to watch the episodes in any order. The show stars Tim Robins and co-stars include Sam Richardson, Cecily Strong, Vanessa Bayer, Will Forte, and Fred Willard.

Jensen rarely watches something and immediately knows it is brilliant. He believes this is perfect. You can binge-watch every episode of I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson now on Netflix and finish the first season in under 2 hours. You will not regret it if you make it part of your weekend plans.
