Get Up On This With Jensen Karp: Ayce Gogi & On Tilt Pinball

Every Thursday morning Jensen Karp gets us up on something new

August 8, 2019

Every Thursday morning Jensen brings our attention to something that we may not know about yet or something we may have overlooked in the past.

Now it's time to "Get Up On This."

This week Jensen got us up on a place that is perfect for an adult night out. It is an all-you-can-eat Korean barbeque pinball bar called Ayce Gogi. It’s located at 7128 Van Nuys Blvd. in Van Nuys and Jensen did not hesitate to say that he considers it to not only be the best Korean barbecue in Los Angeles - but also the best pinball arcade as well. For those of you that are not familiar with Jensen, he’d like to make it clear that he is a pinball aficionado, also known as a pinhead.

Ayce Gogi boasts a large dining room that will occasionally have a waiting list on busy weekends, but you can add your name to a waitlist on Yelp in advance! An all you can eat lunch is $21.95 and dinner is $26.95, with both boasting extensive menus. They have ramens, dumplings and all sorts of fried rice, including sides such as kimchi and rice paper. And if your appetite is a little smaller, combos and lunch specials are on the menu too. A few rules to be aware of: a 2 hour maximum for sitting at a table, the entire party must be there to be seated, and don’t waste any food, because you will be charged for it (listen - don’t be an asshole with your ordering, people are starving).

The Pinball arcade, called On Tilt, is in the back and so hidden that the first time Jensen went, he had to ask where it was. It’s a large and dark pinball bar with the best and newest pinball machines. They hold tournaments, they have leagues, they have release parties for new games, and they’re the only local arcade to have the most recent pinball release, the critically acclaimed Willy Wonka.

On Tilt is also a pinball machine dealer, so if you’d like to purchase a machine, well they can accommodate that too. They have a private party room, and Jensen is even considering holding his 40th birthday party there. The bar area is obviously 21 and over so keep that in mind because it isn’t for kids. If you’re a pinhead like Jensen is, you’ll appreciate the 20 machines they have, like the limited edition Wonka, Dialed In, a Platinum edition Beatles, Batman 66, Munsters, and Metallica, just to name a few.

Jack Black recently called it his favorite place in Los Angeles and was also recently featured in Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but don’t hold that against it. If you love Korean barbecue, you’ll love this place. If you love pinball, you’ll love this place. If you like drinks, you’ll love this place. You can eat, get drunk, play pinball and soon they will have a second location in West Hills. This Get Up On was extremely geared towards the two things Jensen loves, but he genuinely believes that everyone will have a lot of fun here.
