KROQ To The Rescue: Adopt A Senior Pet Month

November 19, 2019

KROQ To The Rescue is our program, hosted by Kat Corbett, where we highlight different animal rescues around Southern California and hopefully help some of these animals find forever homes.

In this month's episode of KROQ to the Rescue, Kat dispels some myths about adopting a senior pet with the help of her very own senior pets!

To celebrate Adopt a Senior Pet Month, Best Friends Lifesaving Center in Mission Hills is offering $5 adoptions for any pet over 5 throughout the month. That promo is also good for select pets over $5 at the NKLA Pet Adoption Center in West LA (where Wolfie, Kat's dog, came from).

One super senior looking for his forever home is Pappy, a sweet little Chihuahua/Terrier mix who's a staff and volunteer favorite.

More Pappy info:

  • Pappy is 8 years old and loves everyone - people of all ages, dogs, and even cats.
  • He's the best cuddler and binge watch buddy on the planet!
  • Easygoing Pappy likes to be carried around in a baby Bjorn.
  • Pappy is visually impaired, but gets around just fine.
  • He's also diabetic and requires twice a day, insulin, but takes his medication like a champ!
  • This low-key little guy would fit in just about any home.
  • If you can't commit to adopting, Pappy is also available for a long-term foster. (Best Friends would provide all his food/medical supplies/vet care for as long as you foster him).
