Like the Wu-Tang Clan, Jared Leto and Thirty Seconds to Mars are for the children.

Leto hit the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas set for an interview with on-air joq Nicole Alvarez alongside a new pal, a cute tyke named Everett.

A budding drummer, Everett declined Leto’s offer to join the band onstage for their set at KROQ's Absolut Almost Acoustic Christmas 2018.

“He said he’s got the night off,” Leto cracked about his young friend’s reluctance to make his KROQ main stage debut so early in his career.

Alvarez asked the famed singer, actor and all-around Renaissance man how he thinks he’ll look back on 2018 years into the future.

“I’ll think about the most incredible tour that we’ve ever had in our lives. It’s been an amazing year,” Leto marveled about the most recent 30STM global jaunt. “We’ve gone all over the world. It was our biggest. most ambitious tour we’ve ever done. It was completely crazy, but also really amazing. It’s always nice to be home in L.A. We have so many memories from over the years and playing KROQ shows.”

Leto took a moment to show appreciation to the band’s devoted and rabid fanbase, mentioning the countless acts that have come and gone while his outfit continues to just get bigger and more popular.

“I would say thank you. Thank you and we’re so grateful for you. We love you so much,” Leto offered when asked what was his message to his fellow Martians. “You’ve given us a journey of a lifetime. There’s not a night that goes by that I don’t look at my brother onstage and just… I think the longer you do it, the more special it becomes,” Leto mused. “You’re running an ultra marathon at that point.”

As for what those fans can look forward to in 2019, the singer said that spending quality time in the recording studio is near the top of the list.

“We’re already working on new music, actually. Because we take so long between albums,” Leto smiled. “I run into people that were young the last time we put an album out. Now they’re like, ‘Man! I was a kid.’ So I think we’re going to try to put music out sooner rather than later.”

With Leto sporting a relatively fresh crop of scruff on that flawless face, Alvarez asked him about his facial hair routine and general maintenance.

“It grows very fast. I literally just shaved it a few weeks ago, and already it’s grown back,” he explained with an angelic grin. “It’s nice to have it for the winter.”
