If you were driving by The Roxy and noticed a line of people dressed up as zombies, chances are you were one of the many cars snarled up, trying to see what was going on.
Last Saturday there wasn’t a big budget movie being filmed or some silly attempt to break the dance record to MJ’s “Thriller”. It was in fact Los Angeles’ indie-pop group Saint Motel having their 2nd Annual Zombie Prom!
KROQ Locals Only presented Saint Motel’s Zombie Prom at The Roxy to a sold out crowd of undead fans complete with fake blood and torn prom attire. Long lines formed early down the Sunset Strip to see Links, Young The Giant (formerly The Jakes), Chasing Kings and of course, Saint Motel.

I’ve played The Briggs a lot on KROQ Locals Only Sunday nights at 9pm but the reason I’m playing this particular song today is because of a little blog post Nicole Alvarez posted last week with regards to a new theme song for Los Angeles. Read the original post here. There were lots of great songs mentioned in response including The Briggs.
This is awesome. Period. Friday night at The Roxy, Corey Taylor, lead singer of Slipknot, jumped on stage with Camp Freddy and Jerry Cantrell for a damn good rendition of “Would” by Alice In Chains. Pretty bad ass:

It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to The Key Club. The Key Club will close it’s doors this Sunday forever and take with it the remains of our hearing, morals, livers, blood, sweat, and tears.

Last night around 10pm, L.A.-based Twitter followers of Them Crooked Vultures got a bit of a shock: “Surprise Eve of Release Show at the Roxy.”
