This last Saturday morning something happened that doesn’t happen very often. I’m in bed, happily snoozing.

Sleep.

And then, for no particular reason, I wake up. I look at the clock. It’s 2am, which is the best news ever. That means 2 more hours of sleep. I start to drift back off, but something doesn’t feel right. Wait, what day IS it? Last weekend was Memorial Day weekend…so, this is Monday, right? But no, I remember going to work yesterday. So, is this Tuesday? No…..this is…SATURDAY! Yes! I don’t have to get up in 2 hours. I don’t have to get up at all if I don’t want to. I can sleep and sleep and sleep! And I did.

And that, my friends, is the second best kind of morning. I’m pretty sure you know what the very best kind of morning is, right? :)

A couple of posts ago, I mentioned these killer chocolate chip cookies I’m completely addicted to, and it kills me that I haven’t had an opportunity to make them in about a month. But several people have asked me for the recipe!more

Sometimes there’s nothing better than getting together with a couple of good girlfriends to eat and drink wine and laugh and complain and laugh some more. I have two friends I do this with every couple of months and last night it was my turn to host the dinner. I made quinoa pilaf and had a salad and garlic bread and I baked these killer chocolate chip cookies. You have to leave the dough in the fridge for 24-48 hours before you bake them and I will use any excuse to make them. You just got a new puppy? I’ll bring over some cookies! You and your boyfriend just split up? Why don’t I bring you some cookies? You just removed that painful hangnail? I’ll be right there with some cookies!more
