When you hear lead singer Michael Fitzpatrick (Fitz) belt out “don’t come back anytime, you’ve already robbed me blind.  This is your pay back, moneygrabber,” from “MoneyGrabber” off Fitz and the Tantrums‘ debut release Pickin’ Up the Pieces, you can’t help but sing along and wonder how anyone could have wronged Fitz.

Up on stage he’s fierce. He sings his heart out, dances around, and commands the crowd to get down on the ground in a way I haven’t seen a frontman do since Fred Schneider (the B-52′s) circa “Rock Lobster.”

Why you don’t want to miss Fitz and the Tantrums at Coachella.

Coachella 2012 is fast approaching, and with it, plenty of speculation of who will actually be performing this year. We use the word “speculation” loosely, because, as you will soon seen, some of these fake posters are clearly made in jest. Some, however, look pretty legitimate. So we pose this to you, KROQ listeners, which, if any, of these posters might be the real deal? Click here to see the posters. You be the judge!

COACHELLA VALLEY MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL TO BE HELD FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKENDS

APRIL 13-15 AND APRIL 20-22.

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival will be held over two weekends (April 13-15 AND April 20-22) at the beautiful Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA.

Coachella 2012 will be two separate events, held over two consecutive weekends. Festival organizers will attempt to produce two identical festival weekends. That means same lineup, same art, same place, different people.

Incredible? Yes. Click for ticket info!

Coachella is a beautiful beast. So many bands, so little time and–eventually–energy.

We might not have seen all the bands we would have wanted to like Chromeo, Two Door Cinema Club or PJ Harvey, but we got to see some of the more hyped-up bands playing the festival and weigh in on whether we think they met our subjective “expectations.”

See if you agree (or even better, disagree) and let us know how you feel in the comments!

By the time Day Three of Coachella had rolled around I was so incredibly tired I was sort of amazed I even made it as far as I did.

Perhaps, I should have thought twice about the level of partying I was doing post-Coachella performances.

I am young and female and at Coachella.  So let’s be realistic, if I removed fun from the equation then I might as well just be dead inside.

I spent the first half of the day covering the bands that visited the KROQ house including:  The Joy Formidable, She Wants Revenge, The Kills and Neon Trees.

Once that was over I headed over to the festival where I was greeted with lines and chaos and all things awesome, including sets by Foster The People, Tinie Tempah, The National & Ratatat.

Yesterday I chose to stake claim at a nice spot by the main stage at Coachella to catch a few of the great acts who would be performing there in the next few hours, including Wiz Khalifa, Nas & Damian Marley and Death From Above 1979.

I also happened to catch a bit of Duck Sauce, Ratatat and Kanye West as the third and final day of Coachella came to an end.

Back at home in Los Angeles, Coachella 2011 is officially over. Overall, it’s been a wonderful blur of decent to amazing live music, rum drinks, long sweaty walks, eye candy wearing ridiculous Native American garb, and lots of delayed texts.

Coming from the perpetual party to the 9-to-5 work grind is always a little bit hard, but we’ll always have memories of three wonderful days on the polo field, especially after Kanye West‘s mind-blowing close to the festival last night.
