In this latest Acura TV spot slated to air during the Superbowl, Jerry’s attempt at ordering the first Acura NSX is thwarted when the salesman reveals that there’s one customer in front of him. Jerry immediately sets out to persuade customer #1 to give up his place in line.

Jerry’s got a lot to offer. As he’s finally able to convince the guy to give up the first new NSX, another well-known auto enthusiast swoops in to steel Jerry’s thunder. Who is it? You’ll have to watch and find out.

I’m sure this is just one of the many amazing commercials we’ll see this Sunday. DVR the game so you can go back and review. Let’s be honest, you’ll be too buzzed to remember them the first time around.

For the uninitiated, the Acura NSX was a true “supercar” in its day. Honda squeezed more out of this little six cylinder engine than anyone thought possible. Occasionally, you’ll see one on the road. But, for the most part, the reaming cars are tucked away in garages or showrooms. The NSX was ahead of its time. I recall rolling in my friends car. Everywhere we went we heard, “Wow, I can’t believe it’s a Honda.”

Another fond memory; I’ll never forgot the wadded up chunk of metal my friend had hauled off the 91 freeway after he rolled it six times. He walked away without a scratch. The car was completely destroyed but he and his passenger were completely unharmed. The incident alone spoke volumes about Honda’s engineering and safety.

The 2015 NSX is slated to be built here in the U.S. and feature a rear engine and all-wheel drive.

LaVallee’s runway was 1,100 feet long, 8 feet wide and 6 feet off the ground while Maddison’s was 1,400 feet long, both on Astro Turf.

After being injured during practice for the 2010 event, LaVallee made his successful comeback this year alongside three-time Red Bull: New Year. No Limits. veteran Maddison, who began the series in 2007 with a record-setting football field jump. He then returned in 2008 to jump up to and off of the Arc de Triomphe at Paris Las Vegas while Rhys Millen backflipped an off-road truck. In 2009, Travis Pastrana jumped his rally car 269 feet, setting a new distance record while landing on a barge in Long Beach’s Rainbow Harbor.

A successful SnoCross racer also recognized for his freestyle double-backflip – a first on a snowmobile – at Winter X Games 13, LaVallee is a seven-time Winter X Games medalist.

The First Annual Freestyle Motocross Awards is this Sunday at the Pala Casino Resort & Spa just outside Temecula, CA. Greats like Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, Ronnie Faisst, Todd Potter, Mike Mason, Robbie Madison, Nate Adams and the Godfather of Freestyle Moto, Mike Metzger, will all be on hand to give out as well as receive awards. Carey Hart is bestowed with a lifetime achievement award.

You’ll also see action sports heroes like Sunny Garcia, Jason Ellis and Weeman.

If you’re in the mood for some hip hop, Paul Wall will entertain your ear drums.

You’ll see awards given for Best Money Shot, Biggest Get-Off, Big Steaze, Fan Favorite and many more.

This morning I was given a tour through the Long Beach Convention Center as they prepared the International Motorcycle Show.  I snapped some photos of some amazing never-before seen bikes and had to promise not to publish them before 5pm today. I felt like I was taking pictures of motorcycle history in the making. Yeah, I wanted to publish the pics before 5pm but feared the rath of Victory Motorcycles bringing down the wrath of God on me so I held onto the pics till now.

International Motorcycle Show…For those of you that regularly make the trip to the LBC to the show, you know what you’re in for. But for those who’ve never been, let me tell you that it’s amazing. For me, it’s like being tempted in the worst possible way. I’d compare it to having a cocaine addiction and being dropped in the middle of the Colombian coca field.

Not only will you lose yourself in the amazing manufacturer displays but you can throw your leg over almost every single bike, trike, quad and scooter.

Bring a wad of cash because this is like the Ski Dazzle of motorcycle gear. Booths upon booths of the latest gear at deep discounts. Apparel, hard parts, tires, communications systems and more, all on sale. If you’re coming down on a bike, be sure to arm yourself with a backpack or saddlebags.

Wander through the custom bike show and vote for your favorite bike, where the average build cost exceeds $65,000. But be warned, you may need a drool cup. You’ll see a few dozen bikes all vying for $90,000 in prize money. Case your vote at the kiosk in the middle of the show floor.

Bring your M1 license and you can take a ride around the convention center on any one of a hundred demo bikes; cruisers, sport bikes, dual-sports and more. Each manufacture trucks out dozens of bikes for you to try out on Shoreline Drive. There’s no better way to figure out which bike to buy than to ride them all first.

Do yourself a favor and stop by the BMW display. Anyone who’s ever watched Biker Build-Off will undoubtedly appreciate this work of art. I can’t imagine the time that must have gone into this machine. Every single piece is milled to absolute perfection and totally over-engineered. Just the raw titanium alone must have cost $50k. This Swedish modified BMW is mind-blowing.
