With warm weather patterns forcing F1 car racing on the frozen waters of the Olympic Basin to be cancelled, Team Red Bull decided to truck north to a Canadian winter wonderland, Lac-a-l’Eau-Claire. In homage to the return of Formula One to Montreal, the team mapped out a replica of Circuit Gilles Villenueve on the frozen lake.
Just when you thought Red Bull can’t top their latest feat, they go and do this. Click more to watch.

I felt like it was a drug deal… The classic drop-off. Except that I didn’t get anything in return… At least not yet. I just gave Joe my car.
Back in Step 1 of Project BMW X5, I simply purchased the car.
I paid the guy with a cashier’s check and drove it straight up the 5 Fwy from San Clemente to Costa Mesa to meet my old friend Joe Delio at Wet Works Garage. I had no plans on driving it home yet. I had a lot of work planned for this baby so I need to get started immediately.

Gull wings and and roll cage on a Pinto? “Why?” doesn’t even begin to express my confusion.
Then, I got started looking for automotive rejects… And, I’ve only scratched the surface. Click more to see what I’ve uncovered.

Seth Enslow just broke the World Record Harley Davidson Long Jump while in Australia. And, apparently the moto press down under are a little slow. They missed his first jump, so Seth being Seth, did it again. His new record is 183.7 feet.
But the comedy is that the second attempt took its toll on his family jewels. Although it probably hurt, I sure it was nowhere near the time when he split his head open like a coconut.

Cam McQueen pulled off a stunt that even his Nitro Circus buddy Travis Pastrana couldn’t do last year.
He backflipped a monster truck!

So, I’m as broke as you are. Radio has taken a big sh*t in the revenue dept in the past year just like every other industry. So, that’s why I’m embarking on a new project vehicle… I’m calling it “BMW On The Cheap.”
Throughout my car-geek years, I’ve typically bought new cars and modded them out within days of leaving the dealer’s lot. I’ve generally ripped out the interior before the new car smell has even worn off. Well, this sucky economy has forced me, like you, to rethink everything.
What did I buy? How much did I pay? What am I going to do with it? Click more to find out.
Stan, my grandfather, was a Lt. Colonel during World War II. He hung Nazis. This is true.
Upon leaving the Army, he worked in a book bindery but looked back fondly on his days stationed in Germany and France, mainly because of their fascinating culture and very strange cars. As you know, the French do it their way which I think he found to be very appealing. So, after returning from duty, he began a new hobby, restoring French cars. Yeah, strange indeed.
He wasn’t a wealthy man. He was comfortable but certainly not rich. He saved every penny to fuel his passion for cars. Over the years he bought and sold dozens of cars and although I didn’t care much about them when I was young, I now see the value in these incredibly unique vehicles.
What was most important to me about my grandfather is that he didn’t give a rat’s ass about what other people thought of his cars. He did it because he loved it. I think it’s why I’m a car geek… It’s in my genes.

OK, so only uber-geeks will enjoy this one…
By clicking MORE, you’ll watch a cut-away of a BMW S1000RR engine bumping against its 14,200 RPM red line with the cam and valvetrain moving at a whopping 236 cycles per second… The valve springs move so fast that you can’t detect any motion at all…
Just imagine that this is all happening between your legs while hauling ass down the freeway.

Two weeks ago I gave away three-day tickets to the 50th Anniversary of the NHRA Winternationals. I knew that the tickets were good but I didn’t know that they were this good!

Who cares about Toyota’s gas peddle problem when you’re in the middle of a party?
Pressing the “Party Mode” button boosts the stereo’s bass and changes the staging to give the sound a concert-like feel inside your Toyota 4Runner. No need to drive down to Verizon Wireless Amphitheater to see a show when there’s already a party in your car. Right?
Now all you need is a keg handle in the dash and you’re set! Oh wait, bad idea…
