There’s more going on in Walk the Moon’s “One Foot” video than a bunch of guys hanging out in the California desert.

Singer Nicholas Petricca told KROQ DJ Kat Corbett that the video’s desert setting is reflective of what the band was going for on the recently released full-length, What if Nothing.

“It’s in the Joshua Tree National Park,” Petricca said of the video location backstage at the 2017 Almost Acoustic Christmas show. “We loved that setting because it’s so alien. We see the desert as this kind of blank canvas where it’s like it could be the end of everything or the beginning of everything. That’s steeped in the themes of the record as well.”
