John Hennessey, founder of Hennessey Performance, unveiled the company’s new flagship hyper car, the Venom F5. According to Hennessey, he chose to debut the car at the SEMA Show because its where he started 26 years ago as a fledgling aftermarket parts company.
With over 1600 hp and weighing in just under 3,000 pounds, the car has a jaw-dropping power to weight ratio helping it push the 300 mile per hour barrier. And maybe even more impressively, acceleration from 0 to 186 mph (300 km/h) will be less than 10 seconds making the new Venom quicker than current Formula 1 race cars.
The small Texas company known for its work with Vipers and Corvettes has created a car with an impressive 0.33 drag coefficient… a 25% reduction in drag. That’s insane. The reduction in drag, as John explains, is like adding 400 HP to the Venom GT. The less drag, the faster the car will go with less power. Check out the stats.
