In 2009, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun formed Twenty One Pilots and self-released two albums before being signed by Fueled by Ramen in 2012. Their sophomore album, Blurryface, reached #1 on the Billboard charts and launched the duo into stardom. “Heavydirtysoul” is actually the first track off the album, although it was just released as a single last month.
The world was introduced to the folk sound of The Lumineers in 2013 with the release of their self-titled debut album, which featured the songs “Ho Hey” and “Stubborn Love” among others. Their sophomore album, Cleopatra (April 2016), continued the folk tradition with songs like “Ophelia” and the newest addition to the KROQ Playlist, “Cleopatra.”
Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Judah & the Lion formed in 2011 and released their first album, Sweet Tennessee, in 2013. “Take It All Back” is off their third album, Folk Hop ‘N Roll.
Highly Suspect started off as a cover band in Cape Cod playing the likes of Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, and Pink Floyd before writing and recording their debut album, Mister Asylum, in 2015. “My Name is Human” is from their follow-up album, The Boy Who Died Wolf, released in November 2016.
