Week 8 of the NFL is upon us and we can only hope it lives up to the hype of week 7. There are a number of stat and data-based tools to help us untangle every match-up; who to choose and who to avoid. Last week he was 1-2; our go-to guy to get the picks is RJ Bell (@RJinVegas on Twitter).
Underdog Special: New Orleans Saints +3 hosting Seattle Seahawks
RJ is taking the Saints in this game. When you handicap a game there are multiple factors that play into it; How good both teams are, how they match-up and also situational advantages. Seattle has a huge situational disadvantage in this game. They played 5 full quarters last week so he’s calling their fatigue a factor in this and they’re on the road again for a 10am game.
Best Bet: New England Patriots -5 at Buffalo Bills
RJ, along with a lot of others, don’t usually play the patriots because they’re favored, making it hard to win money. Bill Belichick doesn’t let his team have a let down. The last 37 times the Pats have been favored by 5 or more, they’re 35-2! Also, against the spread they cover 66% of the time. Best bet for this game is the Patriots.
Big Game Special: Philadelphia Eagles +4.5 at Dallas Cowboys
This game has a great rivalry behind it. Let’s also give credit where credit is due; Dak Prescott and Dallas have been impressive. He has 5 straight games with a passer rating over 100. Also, Dallas is NOT good when they’re expected to win, they tend to under-perform. Both teams are familiar with each other, they know the other teams tricks which leads to close games. Don’t expect a lot of scoring.
