Beck’s ‘Wow’ Remixed by Mexican Institute of Sound

The remix kicks "Wow" up a notch with mariachi flair.

By Hayden Wright

Beck’s “Wow” is a sleepy joint with a flutey hook that primes listeners for a chill, easy-does-it tempo. A new Mexican Institute of Sound remix turns that aesthetic on its head by replacing electronic woodwinds with a mariachi band and adding a great, peppy beat. The uptempo re-imagining of Beck’s single is excellent, and even got the new name it deserves: “GUAU!”
