Travis Barker May Storm Europe by Boat

By Jon Wiederhorn

Nearly dying in a plane crash could cause anyone to be deathly afraid of flying, but it has caused touring complications for Blink-182, whose drummer Travis Barker was seriously injured in a Learjet 60 crash in South Carolina in 2008.

So Barker is searching for an alternate form of transportation so the band can tour Europe. “Travis is looking into the possibility of taking a boat from LA, which is a very long trip,” bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus told NME.

A long trip, indeed. The most convenient route from California to the UK would require two-and-a-half weeks of transportation, reported the Daily Star. “I’m on a bus for six days, travelling from LA to New York, and then I’m spending eleven days on a boat,” Barker said.

Blink-182 released their seventh album, California, on July 1. The band’s current North American tour runs through October 7 in Irvine, California.
