[KROQ This Week] Coachella, California Wine Festival, Griffith Observatory, And More

It’s finally here: Coachella 2016! We’ll be out in the desert partying at the KROQ Coachella House and at the Empire Polo Fields! Will you be out there too? Stop by the KROQ tent and say what’s up!

For those of you who are looking for a more, ahem, shall we say mellow experience this weekend, we’ll be cracking open bottles of vino at the California Wine Festival in Dana Point Friday.

And on Saturday, we’ll be tripping out looking at billions and billions of stars at Griffith Observatory.

For those of you who will be making the journey, Happy Coachella!

Silver Lake: The Satellite, Silver Lake’s legit little music venue, offers up some of the best local music in the city every Monday night, free admission! Enjoy a beer and check out LA bands that are about to make it big! Acts often have a rotating cast of openers, so you can see different bands each week while watching the main act work on material, become more comfortable onstage, and find their rhythm as the month goes on. Check the Satellite calendar to see who’s on the bill each month. Plus go to www.Timeout.com for more information. {@1717 Silver Lake Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026}

Los Angeles: Enjoy gourmet vegan donuts and stop by the Donut Farm! The flavors here are unique, to put it lightly, with names like whiskey tangerine fig, matcha green tea, and Mexican hot chocolate, to name a few. This awesome donut location also serves organic, vegan coffee to supply you with your caffeine hit for the day. Stop by Donut Farm and experience a taste of heaven! {@2609 Sunset Blvd Los Angeles}

Los Angeles: Join the KROQ Promo Crew and our very own Stryker this Wednesday from 11am to 1pm at the T-Mobile Store located at 350 South La Cienega Blvd in Los Angeles for your chance to score 3-day Coachella Passes and access to the exclusive KROQ Coachella Party House! Check out live interviews and performances, plenty of pool action, drinks, and lots more at the KROQ Coachella Party House! Must be 21 to enter.

Los Angeles: La Brea Bakery is going all out this April in honor of National Grilled Cheese Month!  Every Thursday of the month at 5pm, head over and see what kind of gooey, cheese-stuffed, mouthwatering concoction they’ve come up with, some of which may or may not include sautéed mushrooms and short ribs. And as if it couldn’t get any better, each dish will be paired with drinks from Talley Vineyards, Hitching Post Winery, Stone Brewing and Smog City Brewing. Begin preparing for a cheese overload now! {@468 S La Brea Ave corner of 6th & S La Brea Ave Los Angeles}

Dana Point: Enjoy the California Wine Festival, a two day event full of hundreds of vintage red and white wines, complemented by selections prepared by dozens of the region’s top chefs, along with live music in a setting that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Griffith Park: Want to admire the moon and constellations up close, but don’t have your own powerful telescope at home? Not to worry, Griffith Observatory has you covered with their popular (and free) monthly Public Star Parties. Head out to the Observatory’s expansive lawn among hundreds of other star enthusiasts and check out the views through a variety of telescopes with savvy amateur astronomers happy to discuss what you see through their equipment. The views of celestial objects above and LA’s majestic city lights below make this a special evening for the whole family. {@ 2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90027}

Culver City: Enjoy a day at Kenneth Hahn park, impressive in both size and topography for a park in the middle of the Westside. On top of the usual list of amenities, the Culver City Park contains a lotus pond, fishing lake and sand volleyball court. But the urban oasis really establishes itself with over seven miles of walking and hiking trails through the Baldwin Hills. With views of almost every corner of the LA, from the South Bay and the Pacific Ocean to Downtown and the San Gabriel Mountains, Kenneth Hahn Park is a great family and friend location.
