Watch This Unique ‘History of Rock’ Video Mashup

An incredible video is making the rounds online. The unique clip created by Ithaca Audio is called History of Rock and uses faux Facebook posts, featuring likes and comments from artists and bands, to share a somewhat chronological timeline of rock and roll’s history. Watch the video below.

The brilliant clip opens with The Yardbirds track “For Your Love,” which masterfully gets mixed with Elvis Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock” and Cream‘s “Sunshine of Your Love.”

A ton of legendary rock artists are featured in the 14-plus minute video including The WhoThe EaglesDeep Purple, The Clash, Black Sabbath, The Police, Journey, AerosmithPink FloydDef LeppardAC/DC, The Doors, Rage Against The Machine, Oasis, Metallica, Blur, The Verve, Radiohead, The Killers, Red Hot Chili PeppersLinkin ParkU2The StokesGorillaz and more.

Highlights include audio mashups of Queen‘s “Another One Bites the Dust,” Duran Duran‘s “Wild Boys,” with David Bowie‘s “Let’s Dance.” Another great mash up includes The White Stripes‘ “Seven Nation Army,” Kings of Leon‘s “Sex on Fire” and Nirvana‘s “Heart Shaped Box,” which works incredibly well.
