Listen to Deftones’ New Song ‘Doomed User’

By Amanda Wicks for Radio.com

Deftones released a new song off their upcoming album Gore. Titled “Doomed User”, the song’s overall sound reflects its title. There’s a despondent quality—a simmering anger—that comes across in both the melody and frontman Chino Moreno’s vocals.

The band goes hard on the verses, layering them with heavier guitars and drums, before easing off for the chorus for a more alternative sound. “Don’t make this out to be something about you,” Moreno sings towards the chorus’ end.

The band debuted the song recently at Travis Barker’s Musink Festival in Costa Mesa, CA. Watch here.

He told Sirius XM about the song, “It’s got a rockin’ rhythm and a high tech sound that will make you shake your body down to ground.”

“Doomer User” marks the second track off the band’s new album. They previously debuted “Prayers/Triangles”Gore drops April 8th.
