The Strumbellas Perform Live at KROQ + Talk Forthcoming Album ‘Hope’

Six-piece Canadian band The Strumbellas recently stopped by the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ to perform their current single “Spirits” and a new track “Shovels and Dirt,” plus they talk about their new album, touring, and more!

“We’re a heavily folk-influenced band with our instruments, but this album we really tried to focus on writing a record without instruments in our hands. The last two records were basically us just playing our instruments, so we really wanted to start from scratch and write these songs, and put the best instruments for each song before we actually got a chance to play on it. I know it sounds kind of weird but we wanted a fresher sound, a little bit different, and not fall into the same sound we had for the last two records,” says frontman Simon Ward.

The Strumbellas’ forthcoming album Hope is out April 22nd via Glassnote Records.
