The games themselves during Week 1 of the NFL were a bit shaky, but we found out there is something that we could count on: Mutha effing RJ Bell! Pregame.com’s “football warlock” went a PERFECT (3-0) last week with his picks, making some of our betting listeners very happy.
Of course, he’s going 100% this week right? We shall see. It’s pick time!
Underdog Special: Tampa Bay +10 over New Orleans Saints
One pro bettor said the Saints’ defense is the worst in the league, based on last week’s game. Their once solid home field advantage has sputtered as well, going (1-6) against the spread in the last seven home games. Tampa is not a great team, but they are good enough in this matchup.
Best Bet: Cincinnati Bengals -3 over San Diego Chargers
The Bengals have been a Top 5 team in the last 5 years, but their post-season issues have kept them from getting respect. They are at home and have covered 13 of 17 regular season home games, and some think they are even better this year. San Diego isn’t bad, but Phillip Rivers has thrown 18 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions in the last 10 games.
Big Game: Green Bay Packers -3.5 over Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks are one of the best teams in the league, and usually perform well as underdogs, but they have lost key coaches this offseason and their offensive line looked bad last week. Green Bay have one of the best home field advantages in the NFL, and after last year’s playoff elimination at Seattle’s hands, revenge is on the Packers’ minds.
