Football is finally coming back, and Kevin & Bean couldn’t be happier, because it also means the return of our friend RJ Bell from Pregame.com. Last year, he had a pretty impressive 66% success rate with his weekly NFL picks, and we hope he can keep that momentum going into this season.
We checked in with RJ to give us his football preview for the upcoming NFL and college seasons.
Tom Brady Factor: When it comes to betting, the Patriots’ QB is worth around 7 points per game. With the news of his suspension over the off season, the line has moved quite a bit for the upcoming Week 1 match up against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Without a suspension, the Pats were favored by 6.5 or 7; however, if Brady’s suspension had been upheld, they still would’ve been favored by 2.5 points.
Why? Las Vegas always had some belief that Brady would play. For that same reason, the Super Bowl line didn’t move much either, with 10/1 being the odds with out Brady those 4 games, improving to 8/1 with Brady’s suspension being thrown out.
Other Superbowl Odds:
Alabama has been favored an incredible 68 straight games, going all the way back to 2009, and are currently favored every game this season.
Also good news for local fans, USC and UCLA are both among the favorites for the national title this year, with 8/1 and 34/1 respectively.
