Run The Jewels Reunite in Studio with Zack de la Rocha and Nas

by Jeff Cornell

Run The Jewels made waves in 2014 with their song “Close Your Eyes (And Count to F—),” their collaboration with Rage Against The Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha. It seems the rap super-group is looking to tap into rekindle the magic they laid down on the track off their Run The Jewels 2 effort.

El-P took to Instagram yesterday to post a photo featuring RTJ along with Zack de la Rocha and Nas in the studio with the caption “This happened.” We are not exactly sure what happened in the lab, but hopefully this leads to an iconic collaboration. El also posted a photo of himself, Zack and Killer Mike with the caption “fam.”

Run The Jewels are on Nas‘ Mass Appeal Records label, so it’s possible the legendary MC was just checking in with the boys. Back in June, Nas joined El-P and Killer Mike on stage for a performance of “Made You Look” at the Northside Festival in Brooklyn.

RTJ are expected to release their third album sometime in 2016.

this happened.
