U2 and KROQ are taking over The Roxy May 28th

In an interview with Kevin & Bean this morning, Bono said that U2‘s upcoming show at the Roxy will be one of their smallest in such a theater in nearly four decades.

“Roxy’s this kind of legend, and all these extraordinary artists have played there—people who are really important to us like Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen,” he said. “I saw Iggy Pop there, which is mind-blowing… So, you organized it for us. And thank you.”

He added, when asked if getting such a big band into a small space will be tough: “Well, with the egos of Larry, Adam and Edge it’s gonna be tricky. I’ll be fine. I’ll just swan past security. Edge’s pedals, where are we gonna put them? He’s got like NASA on the side of the stage.”

Tickets will not go on sale to the general public, but fans can win tickets exclusively through KROQ.

It’ll be one of the band’s first shows back after Bono’s recovery from his bike fall in New York last November. Bono has since recovered enough to perform, though he has added in recent interviews that his status when it comes to playing the guitar again is “not clear.”
