“That’s only the second time we’ve every played that song,” announced singer Alex Gaskarth afterward.
Massive blink-182 fans with tattoos to prove it, All Time Low tried for many years to Hoppus on one of their songs.
“We went to his house. It was me, Alex our singer, Rian [Dawson] our drummer and Meghan, who takes pictures for us,” lead guitarist Jack Barakat told Radio.com in February. “We were in his studio right next to his kitchen and he recorded the vocals and we kicked it for a while and it was pretty awesome… a pretty incredible experience.”
A testament to the band’s devoted fans, All Time Low’s album Future Hearts shot to No. 1 on iTunes’ U.S. and UK charts shortly after its debut. As an additional sign of success, “Tidal Waves” was just added to the KROQ playlist, eliciting a public ‘thank you’ from the band (seen in the video above). Thanks for the shout out guys!
Future Hearts debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 behind the Furious 7 soundtrack. All Time Low will be performing May 16th at the sold out KROQ Weenie Roast Y Fiesta. Enter to win pit tickets and backstage passes to the show here.
