Jimmy Fallon doesn’t normally veer too close to political satire on his show, possibly because one notable instance where he did was when his house band the Roots played Fishbone’s “Lyin’ A** B****” as Michelle Bachmann’s walk-on music in 2011.
But last night, he took on BP oil, albeit in very goofy fashion, while Russell Crowe was on the guest couch. Fallon noted that five years after the infamous BP oil spill, the gulf coast is still dealing with the consequences of that disaster.
Fallon took the opportunity to reprise his 2010 “protest song,” “Balls in Your Mouth,” featuring the immortal lyric, “Don’t swim in the ocean, you’ll get balls in your mouth.” The “balls” he refers to, of course, are tar balls. Obviously.
