For a very long time, when you heard the name “Durst,” you though of one person: Fred. You thought “give me something to break!” You thought “my way or the highway.” You thought rap-rock, red caps, goatees and George Michael covers.
Then a few weeks ago, everything changed. When you heard Durst, you didn’t necessarily think about nookie, but you thought about murder.
And though Limp Bizkit isn’t exactly on the forefront of American pop culture any longer, Fred Durst isn’t exactly enjoying the confusion between him and Robert Durst, the now-arrested star of HBO’s The Jinx who is accused of murdering many people.
In response to the confusion, which included the AP mis-identifying Robert as the frontman for the ’90s sensations, Fred Durst has posted a photo to Instagram of a new Limp Bizkit sweater that identifies Fred as “Not Robert.”
