Don’t believe the rumors. That’s at least what the three members of fun.—Andrew Dost, Nate Ruess and Jack Antonoff—are saying in a new message to fans.

The band took to Facebook last last night (Feb. 4) to write a lengthy note explaining what’s going on in the world of fun. after rumblings of a breakup started.

The band starts their note by explaining that they prefer to give updates when there’s updates to be given, but “there has been a lot of recent chatter and we hear you and wanted to speak to you directly.”

The band says they have always been three members who work together and on their own separate things when they’re inspired to do so. “Sometimes that inspiration leads to fun music, sometimes it leads to musical endeavors outside of fun. we see all of it as part of the ecosystem that makes fun, fun,” they wrote.

“We want to treat YOU GUYS (our amazing fan base) with the respect you deserve; and that is by making music when we are fully ready to make it and never giving you guys anything that is less than 100%,” they continued. “‘Some Nights’ was a successful album and it would have been very easy for us to jump back in the studio and capitalize on our momentum. but making records and touring when its “good for business” means nothing to us. we make records and tour when we are inspired to do so.”

As of right now, they are not inspired to work together on music, but they are supportive of one other’s projects: “that fact that our tiny club can produce so many different kinds of music together and as individuals is very special to us.”

They leave off by saying, “as always, we’ll keep you guys updated!”

Billboard posted their own story hours after the band released a statement, which they say was a response to them asking for a comment—and claim that there’s bad blood between the three guys “with weeks, even months, going by with little to no communication among bandmates” and that a “clash of egos” is tearing them apart.
