Has anyone been better at prognosticating football than RJ Bell? The Pregame.com founder boasts a regular season record of 67% (26-13), which is pretty damn impressive. Listeners had a couple of weeks of no-Bell withdrawals, but now the football wizard is back to tell us his thoughts on this weekend’s NFL and college football games.
Will his momentum carry though this weekend? Only one way to find out!
Denver Broncos +7 vs. Indianapolis Colts
RJ is a guy who usually goes for the underdog first, so he rarely picks the favorite. However, the Colts are a team that are way better at home. When playing 3 playoff teams on the road, they have been outscored by 60-points in the first half this season. And when you take away Andrew Luck, the rest of the Colts roster is average at best.
Peyton Manning had been a concern the last part of the regular season, but RJ says, that if Manning is your only problem, you don’t have it that bad. Their defense has been great, their run game is exceeding expectations, so they are making out OK.
Ohio State Buckeyes +6 vs. Oregon Ducks
RJ never bets with his heart, in fact, he says in most cases he will put money on the opposing team. But in this instance, he is taking his beloved Buckeyes (he’s an alum). Betters have been pounding on Ohio, because Oregon, being a very offense-centric (“football sexy”) team, gets a lot of public love. They also just beat Florida State, which garnered them even more love.
However, RJ believes Ohio State is just as good a team, and since the teams are playing on a neutral field, Bell believes the Buckeyes are your best bet.
