Well, not really (or yet, at least), but a report from TMZ that the drummer dislocated his shoulder in St. Barths over the weekend after being hit by a giant wave seem to be at least partially true: that is, the injury occurred.
Carney didn’t speak outright about the incident, but he did choose to reference his ailment on his Instagram, posting two photos of himself, shirtless, with a Lifetime logo plastered in the corner.
“Tune into my new lifetime movie. ‘Dislocated Shoulder’ airing right now,” reads the first photo’s caption, including an image of a shirtless Carney looking a bit downtrodden.
A second features a similar caption, this time with an emphasis on the purportedly dislocated shoulder from within a doctor’s office.
Luckily for Carney and the Keys, his injury should have plenty of time to heal before his arm’s needed again. The Black Keys are next scheduled in concert on Feb. 6 in Los Angeles, and then off again for 10 days before heading overseas to Europe.
The band’s most recent album Turn Blue came out last year and is nominated for Best Rock Album at next month’s GRAMMYs.
