Imagine Dragons helped welcome LeBron James back to his hometown of Cleveland, OH at the Cavaliers’ first home game against the New York Knicks last night (Oct. 30).
“I’ve been a fan of the Cleveland Cavs fan since I was a tiny little boy,” frontman Dan Reynolds told the crowd. “I remember watching the LeBron James documentary with my buddies over my house in high school, and thinking you know, ‘That dude’s going to go on to do big things.’ I can’t tell you how happy I am that he’s come home to Cleveland.”
The band then broke into their new single with a special performance of their single “I Bet My Life.”
In front of a wall of lights, Reynolds sang, “I know I took the path that you would never want for me / I gave you hell through all the years,” before the choir exploded into the chorus of “I’d bet my life on you.”
