Avicii is in need of some major downtime.
With rumors swirling around the internet that the Swedish EDM superstar was cancelling the rest of his 2014 commitments to focus on his health, his publicist has issued an official confirmation to Radio.com from his team At Night Management. The statement in full:
“At Night Management has tabled all touring and promotional activities for Avicii, aka Tim Bergling, until further notice so that he can fully recuperate from lingering health issues related to surgeries that removed his gall bladder and appendix earlier this year. The international superstar, who is the #1 Most Influential Artist Under 25 according to Spotify, is taking a break at home in Stockholm so he can regain his strength and physical well-being before the release of a new album project next year.”
As mentioned in the statement, Avicii has faced a series of health issues this year, causing him to cancel a string of high-profile appearances (including a headlining slot at the Ultra Festival in Miami), as well as push back the launch of his ensuing U.S. tour.
Among the shows Avicii will miss include a headlining slot at the second annual TomorrowWorld EDM fest that’s scheduled for later on this month over the Sept. 26-28 weekend.
