Koenigsegg Announces Agera One:1 – A 273 mph Bugatti Killer

Koenigsegg is celebrating 20 years of making the world’s fastest cars with the introduction of The Agera One:1. The Swedish supercar maker is calling their latest beast “The worlds first Megacar.”

Powered by a twin-turbo, 5.0-liter V8, The Agera One:1 will produce a tire-scorching 1,341 hp and 1,011 lb-ft of torque. According to a press release, Koenigsegg claims the Agera One:1 has a simulated top speed of 273 miles per hour, which would best the current Guinness World Record holder for fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, by 19 mph. But according to autoblog, only 6 cars will be built so it will never qualify as a production car, which requires at least 30 units to be made. Curiously, Koenigsegg says top speed “has not been a priority, as the One:1 is a track focused car.”

The Agera One:1 will achieve this top speed thanks to a mind-blowing power-to-weight ratio of one-to-one, thanks to the liberal use of carbon fiber and titanium.

All 6 units will be pre-sold before production begins.

Set to debut at the Geneva Auto Show March 6, it’s unknown what the Agera One:1 will cost. But the price is the really the question is it… if you’re one of the 6 wealthy individuals lucky enough to secure one, the real conundrum will be whether or not to order the active noise canceling seat option.
