Yes, it’s that time of year again, when all thoughts turn to Black Friday camp-outs, crazy retail sales and finding that perfect holiday gift for friends and family sure to put you in their good graces for another twelve months.

OK, now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk about what’s really important this holiday season: partying. And nothing says seasonal good times like an “ugly sweater” party, where you and yours break out the most garish and outlandish Christmas sweaters imaginable while indulging in another holiday staple, spiked egg nog.

While the growing popularity of outrageous holiday sweater parties has made finding one that truly stands out an increasingly difficult proposition, thanks to a couple of industrious and clever bands, rock fans will have a distinct leg up on the competition with hilarious music-related pullovers that are sure to be the talk of any December gathering.

Leading the way is thrash-metal legends Slayer, who are presently blowing up the internet after releasing the “Slayer Christmas Holidays Jumper,” a glorious sweater that replaces images of reindeer and Santa Claus with skulls and pentagrams, boasting Slayer’s distinctive logo front and center.

Initially available only in the UK, the Slayer holiday sweater has generated enough fan and media attention to be been made available in other territories, including the good ol’ USA. The band famous for such albums as Reign of Blood and Seasons in the Abyss up the holiday ante by also offering tree ornaments and even a Christmas stocking emblazoned with “Happy Holidays” and the band’s eagle logo to hang over the mantle.

While the Slayer sweater is tough to beat, UK hardcore band Continents comes pretty close, creating an ugly (and potentially offensive) holiday sweater design that imagines three reindeer in a very graphic sex act right on the front a bright red pullover. The X-rated design is also available on a t-shirt.

The holiday sweater peddlers Slayer recently played the band’s first-ever shows in India this past year, headlining the Rock ‘n India fest in the city of Bangalore.
