Coachella is just a few days away, and what better way to warm up for the epic, 2-weekend festival than to soak up the sun (naturally) and hike the great outdoors.
Chantry Flat Recreation Area in Sierra Madre is one of many beautiful parks the Angeles National Forest has to offer.
Trail: Sturtevant Falls
Distance (Round-Trip): Approximately 4 miles
Elevation Gain: Approximately 500 feet
The trail begins on a paved path that takes you downhill. At the end, you’ll see a bridge and a fork in the road. Be sure to follow the arrows that point you towards Sturtevant. Finally, you’ll hit the dirt road. You’ll quickly notice many old, rustic cabins that lie within the tall, shady trees and inspirational signs carved in wood reminding you to respect the land! They all make for an awesome, scenic hike!
Be sure to pack a lunch and reward yourself after the hike by eating along side the 50-foot waterfall! There are plenty of rocks and trees where you can hang out, take a breather, and enjoy the fall’s view!
Until next time, folks!
