One of our favorite shows around the Kevin & Bean office is NBC’s Community. It (thankfully) came back to our Thursday night lineup on March 15th, and in our best efforts help it gain and keep viewers, we’ve been having cast members drop by to promote the comedy. We kicked it off with Alison Brie, followed by Jim Rash, and Gillian Jacobs.
Yesterday morning, Joel McHale, AKA Greendale Community College’s Jeff Winger, joined the guys in studio to talk about Community, The Soup, playing Ryan Seacrest, and the recent feud between costar, Chevy Chase, and Community’s creator, Dan Harmon.
Community is one of those shows that finds itself “on the bubble” every season, despite its rabid and vocal fans. There are “Save Community” Facebook pages, twitter accounts, blogs, flash mobs, rally’s, and just about any other thing you can think of. Until recently, the fate of the show seemed dire, yet again. I’ll spare you all the ratings jargon mumbo jumbo, but just say that its numbers following the March 15th return gave the show an additional glimmer of hope.
Whether Community will get a fourth season or not is still up in the air, and ratings are essential. If you don’t watch Community, you’re missing out! It airs Thursday nights at 8pm on NBC, and watching it as it airs live is the best way to ensure those ratings. DVR’ing it, watching On Demand, and watching on Hulu is also good, but just not as strong as far as ratings are concerned.
If you need extra incentive to watch the show, Joel McHale somehow ends up shirtless almost every episode and the man looks damn good! He mentioned to Kevin & Bean that he makes sure to drop to the floor every half hour or so for that recently-worked-out look, because he never really knows when he’ll be needed to show some skin.
