Seven is considered by many to be a lucky number. For the Smashing Pumpkins, their upcoming album Oceania will be their seventh album which frontman Billy Corgan has dubbed the band’s “best album in over 15 years and their strongest offering since 1995’s Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness.”

The Corgan-produced album will be released June 18th on Corgan’s EMI subsidiary, Martha’s Music.

Described as “an album within an album,” Oceania is part of the Smashing Pumpkin’s 44-song venture for Teargarden By Kaleidyscope.

“I knew I was being exploited,” said Corgan. “But there was a Faustian bargain to be made.”

The singer also voiced his opinion on Lana Del Rey’s “exploitation” as well and her  performance on Saturday Night Live.

“It doesn’t surprise me that she crashed and burned, because she wasn’t ready for it,” he said. “I didn’t think it was that bad.”

Oceania Tracklisting:

“Stella P And The People Mover”

‘The Celestials’

“Violet Rays”

“My Love Is Winter”

“One Diamond, One Heart”

“Pale Horse”

‘The Chimera”
