It was widely speculated that Sacha Baron Cohen would show up at the Academy Awards Red Carpet as “The Dictator,” the lead character from his latest film about bumbling Middle-Eastern dictator.
Although Academy officials voiced their displeasure about the possibility of him showing up in character, it didn’t appear to slow down one of the greatest comedic actors of our generation. Not only did Cohen show up in character, but he pranked Ryan Seacrest live on camera spilling an urn, filled to the brim with Kim Jong Il’s ashes, all over Ryan’s tux. The powder covered Seacrest’s jacket and clearly flustered the red carpet pro.
It was the highlight of the night.
