If you’re a Morrissey fan (and if you’re old enough; the ROQ has been around for quite a while now), you probably remember the sense of shock and loss you felt when you heard The Smiths, one of the most important and influential bands of the 80′s, had broken up.

Six months later, however, Morrissey had officially begun his solo career with the release of Viva Hate.  The album contained classics like “Everyday is Like Sunday” and “Suedehead.” Morrissey went on to have amazing solo career, recording nine albums over the next fourteen years.

On March 26, the past will be revisited when Morrissey will rerelease his debut solo album, albeit with a few changes. For starters, Viva Hate will be digitally remastered . The original cover art will be restored (instead of the alternate art used during the 1997 Special Edition) complemented with new photos inside, and The Pretender‘s Chrissie Hynde adding some liner notes.

Perhaps the biggest change, though, will be the replacement of “The Ordinary Boys” with “Treat Me Like a Human Being,” which was recorded during the Viva Hate era.

Check out the video for his classic, “Suedehead.”

One great album. Would hope the CD has the b-sides too. “Disappointed” is one of my fav songs of Morrissey’s catalog!
