Locals Only Playlist 2/12/12: Lady Danville, Young The Giant, Moostache And More – Listen And Vote

Dum spiro, spero. As long as I breath I hope. And I hoped to see Midnight Hour succeed this week again and being #1 third thime in a row. Since being blessed with sublime talent as musicians and being characterized by big heart and soul these guys definitely deserve to take over #1 here week after week. So I checked Locals Only with excitement and anticipation just to notice they have been voted #2. First thoughts: Damn it! I kinda felt disappointed and betrayed. But giving this thing a second thought I realized this reaction was totally inappropriate. All musicians on Locals Only are here for a certain reason: they got talent. So congrats to all of them, every single one ROCKS, and hence Bad Suns victory is well deserved. Guess I had to remind myself what KROQ is actually all about: supporting young talented artists, giving them the chance to prove themselves and their music. And the passion and commitment to their music is what all bands here can agree to. In my opinion Midnight Hour has proven themselves enough to be #1 on KROQ continually, they have shown what great potential as artists they have, what ardent musicians they are and that their songs are meaningful, innovative and capturing in an extent that they can reach out to people’s hearts. So they deserve to be #1. But as I said before, KROQ it’s not about competition in the first place, but about supporting musicians and spreading the word for them. And due to that I think we owe KROQ and Kat Corbett gratitude, so here is a big ‘THANK YOU’ to them for giving talentented young artists the opportunity to prove themselves – and I owe them a special ‘THANK YOU’ for believing in Midnight Hour and their success.

Fatum viam inveniet. Fate will find its way. I do not know if it was by fate or by coincidence that I watched ‘The Curse of the Ninth’ in 2006 and was totally blown away by ‘Running Away’ the instant the song started. I searched for the band that was able to amaze me to such an extent and found out that the ones that performance overwhelmed me were five guys from OC trying to live their dream. This was the moment I became a fan of Midnight Hour and I still am. Fate might not made me found them, but fate definitely brought these guys together in order to make music that changes lifes – and it changes mine for sure. Hence I am grateful to have found Midnight Hour and I am grateful to have been able to listen to such amazing songs as ‘Nothing last Forever’, ‘This is where it ends’, ‘Jealous Girl’, ‘Modern Love’, ‘How easy I fall apart’, ‘Bad Feeling’ ….
And I have a GOOD feeling about these guys, they will be huge 2012 and they will climb the ladder of success step by step – that’s safe to say.
All that’s left to hope is that Midnight Hour’s effort, endurance and labour will pay off the right way, because the world needs to listen to these guys. And I am convinced it is a good start to make them #1 here again in order to spread the word for them, to make their music reach out to as many people as possible. Bona Fortuna Midnight Hour;) You can count on me for sure;)

Modern Love from Midnight Hour is like the theme song to this year for me. I just started dating my boyfriend this year and this song meant a lot to know people have the same feelings as me. It’s just such a fun song that reminds me of how much fun my boyfriend had this summer. It’s the perfect summer love song for your first relationship!

Something that I missed here? I mean … why is everyone is talking about Bad Suns being not in the Top 5 anymore?And why is there no new Locals Only Playlist for this week to announce the Top 5 canditates of last week’s voting? It might have been announced via radio though who has made Top 5, but due to the fact that I’m living in germany and KROQ’s radio program is restricted to a few regions – not including the place I live – I am a little bit confused right now. What are the actual ranks for this week and when one can expect a new Locals Only feed with the last week’s Top 5 candidates and the chance to vote for ones favourite band? Hope someone can help me out and answer my questions. Maybe KROQ itself?!

One thing left to say: My vote sure goes to Midnight Hour as soon as votes can be counted again on KROQ. Why? Well, I guess the best band here should be offered the best chances to win and to be considered as the ones who should be granted regular running time on KROQ! And the guys of Midnight Hour sure deserve to take slot #1 again and be played more often on the radio – simply because they have worked hard for it and showed endurance and talent enough to be rewarded at last. It’s definitely about time!

And to Bad Suns: I might have said your ‘reign’ will be over in my last comment – but I just said so, because I go all the way for Midnight Hour and therefore I wanted to see them #1 instead
This didn’t mean that I’d prefer that you won’t be voted Top 5 anymore. You are talented and ambitious enough to be voted at the higher ranks here. Hence it’s hard for me to believe that you didn’t make Top 5 this week… something must have gone wrong …

Nevertheless congrats to all the bands who have made Top 5 this week (eventhough I do not know which ones did). It sure is well deserved!
