Sluggo’s Video Of The Day: Happy Mondays “Step On”
It’s fairly hard to believe now that there was a time in the early ’90s when you’d see this video nearly every time you swept past Mtv.
This is, of course, the ‘other version’ of the clip but any of us who’ve lived under a flight path (like the one KROQ was near in Burbank) can appreciate this bit of weirdness.

For some reason I couldn’t stand these bands at the time. Now, of course, I absolutely love The Inspiral Carpets, Stone Roses and these guys. The early 90′s were great…..throw in James, The Ocean Blue, Jesus Jones, Belly, The Breeders and of course Depeche Mode and The Cure at their peaks and you had perhaps one of the greatest era’s in music going on. So many different styles and sounds…..then grunge happened and it’s as if the 90′s are remembered for only one thing.
