Picking up where they left off at the end of last year, The Naked And Famous‘ “Young Blood” regain the top spot on the KROQ most-played list, sending Coldplay‘s “Paradise” down to #3. The new Foo Fighters single “These Days” finally made it’s way into the top 5, coming in at #4.

New to the playlist this week is Skrillex‘s “Bangarang,” the first single from his eponymous EP which recently came out. Gotye‘s “Somebody I Used To Know” debuted on the list at #6, right below The Black Keys‘ “Lonely Boy.”

please stop following trends and putting non-rock like Skrillex on KROQ. Take some initiative and find some new acts that aren’t everywhere, and actually give them a chance to thrive on radio as opposed to the way you give them two weeks of play and drop them if they don’t make an initial impact.

I heard Skrillex last night on the Furious Five @ 9 and was floored it was number one. The “song” sounds like a five year old with ADD and a sound effects machine. It was like a train wreck, I couldn’t turn it off. He may be “hot” right now, but KROQ needs some standards.

KROQ is in a quandry. It’s been a slow start to 2012, so they are playing a lot of leftover 2011 tunes (and Skrillex-UGH!!). But, don’t fret!!! In 2012 we should be getting new music from the following true Alt-Rock artists (and I’m sure KROQ will give them airplay):
Offspring, Bravery, Rancid, AM Taxi, Bouncing Souls, Star Spangles, Green Day, NOFX, Hot Hot Heat, Pennywise, Vampire Weekend, Bad Religion (their final album), Goldfinger, Tegan and Sara, MXPX, Hot Water Music, The Switches, Paramore, Skybombers, Gaslight Anthem, The Cribs, The XX, Avett Brothers, Kings of Leon, Nada Surf (This CD is out already and getting airplay on other Alt-Rock stations), Mumford & Sons, Killers, James, Yellowcard, The national, Phoenix, Spoon, Weezer, Interpol, Free Energy, Silversun Pickups, New Politics, Neon Trees, Hockey, Metric, Atomic Tom, The Hold Steady, Rogue wave, The Whigs, Jimmy Eat World, Pearl Jam, Beck, Jet, Placebo, Glasvegas, Stellstarr, Sharks, Say Anything, Pilot Speed, Brand New, and Motion City Soundtrack.

Clearly, all these bands are more “Alt-Rock” than Skrillex. We just need to wait for these albums to be released
