Alright people, it’s NFL post-season time. And even though the playoffs are missing the Eagles, Cardinals, and Seahawks, there are a great group of games this weekend.
Jimmy Kimmel’s Cousin Sal has been our go-to guy this NFL season, and he was pretty much 50/50 all season. He claims he was 3-0 last week while we were on vacation…sure. But he’s fired up about this weekend’s match ups, and has his own predictions for the Bengals, Saints, Falcons, and Broncos.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Houston Texans
Sal says you should always “bet against the Red-Haired Rookie who’s playing an away game while getting over the flu”…oddly specific. He predicts QB Andy Dalton is going to have a hard time, and Houston’s Arian Foster will keep up his average 150 yards per game rushing.
Prediction: Texans 27, Bengals 13
Give the 3 points
Detroit Lions vs New Orleans Saints
Sal thinks 10 1/2 points is a lot of points for the Lions, but he believes they will cover that spread. He doesn’t believe Detroit will win though; the Saints are too good, and right now seem unstoppable.
Prediction: Saints 30, Lions 24
Atlanta Falcons vs. NY Giants
Sal says if you are going to overlook any of his picks, discount this one. Being a Cowboys fan, he hates the Giants with a passion. Even Victor Cruz annoys him. He also believes the Falcons don’t get the credit they deserve. This is the first time the teams have ever met in the post-season, and the trash talking is already rampant.
Prediction: Falcons 26, Giants 21
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Denver Broncos
Sal has been wanting to pick against the Broncos for the last 6 weeks, and is happy this is the week he can do it. Tim Tebow is terrible, and the Steelers’ defense does not mess around. Big Ben is all banged up, but will still out-perform the Denver QB. Sal says this game has “blowout” written all over it.
Prediction: Steelers 23, Broncos 0
