There’s three new movies in cineplexes this weekend, but we know that Breaking Down is going to slaughter everything else, so I don’t even know why I bother. Also opening is Happy Feet Two and The Descendants.

Happy Feet Two:

This is the sequel to Happy Feet, and Elijah Wood and Robin Williams are back as voices, along with Pink, Hank Azaria, Sofia Vergara, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and many other great actors.

I liked the first one a lot, and this one looks good as well. Robin Williams is great in these animated films. His voice really lends itself to wide characterizations, and I think he does a good job.

The Descendants:

I’ve been looking forward to this movie for a long time. I’m such a huge George Clooney fan and I love it when he plays heavy, serious roles, as well as when he plays charming and loveable.

In this, he plays a man who has to reconnect with his young daughters once his wife goes into a coma. On top of dealing with her health issues, he discovers that she has been having a longtime affair behind his back. Alexander Payne (Sideways) directed this film. Our buddy, Judy Greer, is in this film as well.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1:

This is what you’ve all been waiting for! This is the wedding. This is the pregnancy, and then the C-section with the fang-section. You’ve got Edward and Jasper and Alice fighting against the singing dog sled team, and they have a dance-off against the penguins.

Look… the Twilight Saga is not for me. No one needs me on board. It doesn’t matter what I say about this. It’s gonna crush it this weekend in the box office.
