Tickets only for people in L.A. counties. I was going to drive down from the San Francisco Bay Area. WTF is that all about! Live Nation has never done this. So how am I supposed to go to this show… pay some absurd price on Stubhub.?

Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of Ventura, Imperial, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside Ventura, Imperial, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties will be canceled without notice and refunds given.

Live nation and Ticketmaster do this ALL the time . They are obligated to listen to the venue or promoter or whoever is in charge. They just sell the tickets they do not make the rules.
The reason it is limited is very very very easy.
This show sells out in 2 seconds and 80% of the tickets are posted on stub hub or some other resale website within 5 minutes. By limiting sales to so cal only you increase the odds of people who actually want to go to the show of getting a tickets instead of just scalpers. If everyone could buy a ticket to this show 98% of the tickets would be on stub hub. Thus more “true” fans get to go into the show for face value instead of having to pay 2 times face (for the shitty seats) or more (for the good seats could be 4 times face or more).
Yes there are people in no cal or AZ or Nev who want to go to the show and have zero intention of scalping the ticket but they are out of luck.
What really needs to be done is paperless tickets. Whoever buys the ticket must show up the day of the event with the credit card they used to buy the ticket and an ID. This would get rid of the scalpers AND the show would still sell out. Plus since the venue is small it would be practically to take the extra time to check peoples credit cards and ID’s.

You hit the nail on the head so hard it went through the other side. The only piece of the puzzle we’re missing is indeed paperless tickets. A few of us that respond to listener concerns have been fighting for this method since Nine Inch Nails proved it could be done flawlessly. I’m sure it will happen in time.

It is a bummer that by 1015a, they are already being sold online other than live nation for double the price. I understand that there are tons of people on the site ready to buy at the same time – but getting on right at 10 and getting a 12-15 minute wait time to then get NOTHING is frustrating especially since there were tix on sale on ebay at 10:05 from tix brokers. Also, how is it that they have more than 2 tix to sell – thought the limit was 2 per person? Guess that only applies to the peons who don’t have computers that can type in the stupid security phrases automatically. Gotta be a better way…..

So I’m a little annoyed right now… I pulled up a solo pit ticket to the show, I’m going through the checkout process and realize the 1 pit ticket is 150+ Fees (171 total) The email that we got and this website specifically say that every ticket is 75+fees.

I opened a new window to try and pull up a solo seat to save a bunch of cash (since every spot in the Gibson is amazing) and there was nothing left so I ended up having to buy the pit ticket for twice the price as advertised from you guys….
Can you correct the post and email for the people who are buying tickets to night 2 on Friday? I don’t want anyone to pull up a pit ticket and not realize its double the price like I did.

Pit tickets are not seats. It’s standing room only. So, all seats are indeed the same price, $75+ fees. You’ve got a great point though. I’ll bring it up to everyone here that matters.

Had 100 alarms set, the second 10am hit refreshed…still not on sale…refreshed again got in…got random wait times from 3-17 minutes, finally got in to nothing. My friends and I were using 2 iphones, 2 laptops and an ipad…all different people! and nothing! I had to get two single tickets, that’s horrible but we’ll press our luck and were happy that we even got in. Anyone have to do the same?
and anyone know if theres a site or something so we can exchange tickets along with all the other people who got stuck getting singles?

KROQ, I am disappointed in you. I just paid double price for these tickets and I was on at 10:00 am exactly to buy tickets through live nation. There needs to be a way you can stop these brokers from stealing all the tickets and pissing off your fans!! I am happy I still got tickets but I am NOT happy about the corrupt system.

i used the livenation app & was on a computer, and the app gave me better results with getting tickets. i kept getting anywhere from a 2 minute to 10 minute wait time and it just kept fluctuating. those of you who can, for night 2′s onsale, try going through the app!

i tried to get tix right at 10am. Had wait times ranging from 3-9 minutes. Kept coming up empty. So i tried again, and again, and again. Finally around 10:30am i got some. Seats are all the way in the back, but i got some none the less. Moral of the story. KEEP TRYING!

There is something fishy with Live Nation/Ticketmaster. I was on the site before 10. And right at 10 (even 9:59), I was repeatedly refreshing the page. I kept getting the page stating that tickets were not on sale yet. It did not come up to actually buy the tickets until 10:04. Got in right away after that with only like a 2 minute wait but of course eventually got the “No tickets available” page.
So, who bought up all the tickets from 10:00 to 10:04 when it would not even let my try to buy tickets saying that they were not on sale yet ? There is some shady deal with the brokers going on here.

Nope. Not the case at all. Nearly 100,000 people trying to buy 6,000 tickets. After doing the math, you’ll see that the computers to the best they can. We go through this every single year. Every year we’re accused of working with scalpers or whatever. It’s simply not the case. The Ticketmaster/Livenation computers go live at exactly 10:00am. They’re instantly flooded with requests. Each ticket requested goes into a temporary “hold” while the buyer completes the purchase process. If the buyer doesn’t close the deal for any number of reasons, the tickets are put back into the system immediately. That’s why tickets are available till 10:20am. There’s no conspiracy. I promise. You should see the offices here at 10am. There’s a lot of yelling. Everyone sits at their computer logging in trying to buy tickets. When someone gets in you can hear elation from the other end of the building.

You’ll often see tickets listed for purchase on broker sites that aren’t even on sale yet.
They are trying to get a jump by listing fictitious seat locations. They are listing in anticipation of hopefully getting seats close to what they are offering. If you were to order 2 tickets from one of these sites and ask to get tickets fedex’d, they cannot produce them because they don’t have them. You will see seats for 2nd night on various sites. There is one in particular that offers “Row X.” There is no such Row X at the venue. That’s just one example. Ticket brokers are just like any other business. They must be crafty to make a buck.

First, I am not accusing KROQ of working with Scalpers, I am accusing Ticketmaster. I know that KROQ is a good company that wants to get these tickets to the fans. However, Ticketmaster is the devil incarnate.
Second, I didn’t have an issue with it taking a long time to go through which I would expect right at 10. Read my first post, the Ticketmaster page still said Tickets not on sale yet until 4 or 5 minutes after 10am. The page DID NOT go live at 10am from where I was trying to buy the tickets. So, I did not even get the chance to submit my request at 10 as it did not let me until 10:05.

EXACTLY, Jacqueline!!! I understand that there are more people trying to buy tix than there are tix. HOWEVER, why are all of the ticket brokers already selling them online right after 10am for more than DOUBLE the price. I am calling total BULLSH*T on this. Normal people and fans should be able to get online and buy the tickets first come, first serve at the face value price. very very disappointed, KROQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you! I want to go to this show so I payed more money on a broker site to get it, but it is incredibly unfair how the system works. Tickets were up on broker sites and eBay for 2-10 times the face amount by 10:05! Not only that, the page wouldn’t load until everything was sold out anyway because these broker sites probably have programs to instantly load and buy tickets faster than we can even click. I am going for the bans playing, but KROQ just lost tons of points in my book and I am not quite sure how much I am going to support them after this.

Not all of those outrageous price requests are going to get paid…and the closer you get to the show, the lower the prices go. Last year we got tickets for night one two days before the show and paid just over retail for them. Keep checking daily.

Get off Craig’s List. I can’t say this enough. Ticket brokers share tickets. They all offer the same few pair of tickets. Let’s say you’re a broker and you get a pair, we’ll we have a network that allows me to sell YOUR pair of tickets. I get a small piece by selling your tickets. Where else is there to go besides Craigslist once this broken system is sold out, pray tell? You should do it the way Radiohead did with their last show – no print, no physical tickets, you need to show up with ID on the day of the show to get in. That’s the only way around it with these goddamn vultures all over the place.

Making people attach the purchasers ID to the tickets (i.e Will Call) could remedy a lot of that.If someone can no longer go to the show, their refund is based strictly on ticketmaster’s chance to resell it…. at face value.
Jason Mraz and Radiohead have done it and it works.
So yeah we could make it a better system, there’s just too many people out there that it would impact and since it’s not technically broken….. no one’s going to fix it.

C’mon, you know that once one person has the secret word there is nothing from stopping them of doing the same thing that scalpers did at the Ticketmaster Outlets. They simply hire a bunch of people on different computers to purchase the tickets for them so they can resell them at a massive markup. Its ridiculous because fans like the rest of us now have to not go to the shows or pay 150% the amount of the original ticket. And like someone said before, the site didn’t work prior to 10:02 and once it did work there was no hope in getting tickets because they were already gone and up on Stubhub.

Great bands there at dv 30 but obviously you’re still holding on to the Decline of Western Civilization Era. How can Hell be any Worse/80-85, the Mommy’s Little Monster Era, Milo goes to College, Peace thru Vandalism etc etc were all great albums by these guys 30 years ago when they were in their 20′s and still played great shows. So for show quality it really doesn’t compare to Almost Acoustic Christmas which I will unfortunately miss.

You know what, that is so much damn bull. The website froze not only me, but my daughter out of the website, and we are at 2 different locations. Tickets are going now for $750 to $600 for decent seats and buying them this way is lame and leaves room for speed hackers to monopolize and buy tickets by the bulk. Is it really possible that the show was completely sold out within 4 minutes. I was on at 10 am and couldn’t get my purchase to go through; been trying to fix this for an hour. Now I see the show is sold out and places like amphitheatre.com are selling the tix for $400. Now I’m missing the Black Keys and Foster the People. I guess I was lucky enough to see Foster the People 4 times at Detroit Bar last January though. Either way KROQ should let the fans get the tickets not the companies that resell.

Thats crap. I hit the purchase button at 10:04..and kept refreshing as the tickets got worse and worse. I had done this 15 or 20 times by 10:16 and never got a ticket. I even missed school just so I could get the tix. Step things up KROQ. Find a way for listeners to register and have first option of buying tix personally with a limit on tix so no “resale people” get the tix. You can go through about ten web sites and notice that about 55% of the spaces in the amphitheater are now being resold for $200-$450. This show should be about the fans not capitalism..especially considering all the occupy protests going on. Occupy Almost Acoustic Christmas!

I actually had 2 tickets in Orchestra 6 row DD come up. I clicked submit order and it froze up. I thought it was just taking a while to process, but after a while said time up. Luckily I somehow got 2 more to come up but way back in Loge row V. I guess I can’t be pissed…..still got tickets, but had awesome seats that got away.

I already had a bad feeling when I found out that the tickets are being sold through LiveNation. That vendor has always been quite scummy. Couldn’t get tickets after countless tries either. Love to support the band but hate to further profit Ticketmaster.

Night one is going to be amazing!!! So, I literally cried at work when my internet wasn’t fast enought to get tickets. I think people were actually scared to see the school nurse cry. I wanted to go to night one so badly. Have tried calling in, but can’t during school hours–too many sick kids. Tried the online stuff. BIG disappointment!

Those of who who weren’t able to get tickets when they went on sale should check ebay. They don’t add any hidden fees, and have some decent ticket prices. I was able to get 1 pit ticket for $172.50, and I saw 2 pit tickets sell for $366.00 yesterday. That’s only $22.00 more than actual price. Not bad

It’s going to be tough to choose this year, usually there are a couple of bands I don’t want to see so that is beer garden time, but this night 1 lineup is so damn solid that might not be an option this year. Incubus is a headliner who performs sold-out shows at venues like Hollywood Bowl, not Sublime! So unfair… Now this whole Acoustic Christmas weekend is spoiled. You’re no Santa…
