People around the world can rejoice: The McRib is back! Yesterday, we talked to McDonald’s franchise owner, Carol, who helped uncover the mystery of what makes the McRib the must-have sandwich of the season.
Dave “The King of Mexico” said it best: “When it’s here, you gotta have as many as you can.” When the McRib appeared on the McDonald’s menu in 1981, it seemed like any other “pork” meat sandwich, but then McDonald’s made it a limited-time-only product,and the craziness began.
McDonald franchise owner, Carol, said there is “no other item like it.” Sadly, the McRib only stays on the menu for 3-4 weeks at a time. So apart from being a rare treat, what makes this rib less rib so irresistible? The barbeque sauce? The special McRib bun? We may never know.
