These People Need To Stop It. Seriously. Stop. It.

kylemaynard These People Need To Stop It. Seriously. Stop. It.

It’s called “ruining the curve.” It’s the people who have everything going against them but they still manage to excel. What that does is make the rest of us look like slackers because we have no excuses when we squander our opportunities and our blessings and accomplish nothing.

Let’s meet the blind kid who just threw a ceremonial first pitch strike at a major league ballpark last week. (Our own Kevin CAN see and hasn’t been able to throw a strike, or even reach the plate, in two tries!)

Then let’s meet the man with no arms and no legs who is training to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain.

Here’s Max Ashton at a Diamondbacks Vs. Brewers playoff game last week. He may be sightless but he’s got guts.

And if you’ve forgotten, here’s Kevin‘s most recent first-pitch attempt at Dodger Stadium.

Now here’s Kyle Maynard. We talked about him on the show before back when he fought his first MMA bout. He was also an accomplished wrestler, now runs a cross-fit gym, and is a popular motivational speaker.

Born with no arms and no legs, he is now training to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Here’s a piece our colleagues at CBS television just did on him.

I gotta go lie down. Posting on a blog is exhausting.

  1. Lynn Ashton Jr says:

Oh “ruining the curve” gets worse. The Blind Kid, Max Ashton, is my nephew. He has already climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. He has also gone rim to rim on the Grand Canyon in one day. He is a wrestler at Brophy College Prep. and he has done all of this before he was 15 years old. His father Marc is the President of The Foundation for Blind Children, a non-profit in Phoenix. Look up: http://www.touchthetop.com/about.htm to learn about Eric Wienhiemer. A blind man that has climbed the worlds 7 tallest mountains…ok, I will stop piling on.
