While Death Cab for Cutie continues their relentless touring for their excellent new album (this Friday at the Fox Theater in Pomona!), Codes and Keys, they have put together a seven track remix EP to celebrate their already-landmark year. They’ll be rolling out a new remix every week until the Keys and Codes EP will be ready for launch on Nov. 22.
The Northwestern rock band commissioned a heavy hitter in the electronic/remix game, Australian dance-rockers Cut Copy, to give the guitar-driven jam “Doors Unlocked and Open” a breezy, groovy seven minute interpretation.
You can order the EP (which comes with some poster swag) over at Death Cab’s official merch site. Not much else in known about the tracks on the remix album, but if two giant bands like Death Cab and Cut Copy are involved, this will be a close one to pay attention to.
Here “Doors Unlocked and Open (Cut Copy Remix)” below, along with their latest single that has been added to the KROQ Playlist — “Stay Young, Go Dancing”.
