Lots of things are happening in the world of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Angels and Airwaves[/lastfm]. Their drummer Atom Willard recently decided to part ways with the band.
The timing is a little questionable considering they recently debuted LOVE the movie and their new album LOVE Part II is a month away from its release.
Angels and Airwaves released a statement on their Modlife page earlier this week in regards to drummer Atom Willard no longer being a member of the band. According to Willard “It’s been a great six years and I feel privileged to have worked with these musicians I call my friends.[pullquote quote=”It’s been a great six years and I feel privileged to have worked with these musicians I call my friends” credit=”Atom Willard”] While I will miss them, it is an amicable split and I look forward to this next chapter in my life. I truly wish the guys much success in the future.” Atom was one of the founding members along side David Kennedy and band leader Tom Delonge.
Although Atom has left the band, you can still hear his drumming on the bands fourth studio release LOVE Part II due out 11-11-11
The band is offering a variety of package deals for the release. According to their press release, LOVE Part II will be available for purchase as an album on its own, or in a variety of packages: a standard version that contains both LOVE Part I and LOVE Part II albums; a deluxe version with both LOVE albums plus the 85-minute LOVE movie on DVD; a package that upgrades the deluxe version with a 128-page comic book based on the movie or adds a limited-edition t-shirt; plus a package (limited to 25) that contains a signed, customized TD Epiphone guitar similar to the one frontman Tom DeLonge uses during his performances.
The band previously released the single “Anxiety” along side the premire of LOVE the movie which has received more than 500,000 views online, including over 350,000 views in the first week alone. The albums next radio single will be “Surrender.”
